EOMONTH

Jump to month-ends for roll-ups.

EOMONTH jumps to the month-end for roll-ups123456789101112131414th → month-end (e.g. 30th)

Why planners need it

Monthly capacity and finance views hinge on the last day of the month. EOMONTH gets it (this month, next, or N months out) without manual dates.

Syntax

=EOMONTH(start_date, months)

Worked example

End of the current month: =EOMONTH(TODAY(), 0). End of next month: =EOMONTH(TODAY(), 1).

First of this month: =EOMONTH(TODAY(), -1)+1.

Watch out: It returns a serial date — format the cell as a date. Combine with SUMIFS date ranges to bucket volume by month cleanly.
